Evan Williams Single Barrel 1993 Vintage
Bourbon Tasting Notes and Reviews

"The medium amber color is bright...the opening sniffs after the pour display the trademark gentle, fruit-like sweetness/graininess of Evan Williams - time in the glass affords the chance for the bouquet to deepen and grow complex as layers of aroma include milk chocolate, marshmallow, sugar cookies and freshly mown hay; the palate entry is concentrated, sweet, mildly oaky/resiny and medium-bodied - by midpalate, there’s an embers-glow warmth on the tongue, followed by sturdy, woody tastes of oaky vanillin and almond butter; the finish shows a minor touch of honey; the remarkable legend of EW Vintage Single Barrel continues with this luscious addition; one of the five or six whiskeys that I genuinely look forward to every time it’s released as a new bottling; Craig and Parker Beam are wizards in the selection of these utterly sensational bourbons; continues to be one of the finest whiskey values in the world."

"The bourbon is a prolonged holiday for the senses. It’s dark, bold and full of personality. What’s perplexing is how they can deliver so much bourbon at such a reasonable price."

Evan Williams Single Barrel 1992 Vintage
Bourbon Tasting Notes and Reviews

"One of the great success stories of American whiskey is the Evan Williams Vintage series, which began in 1986. The tawny-amber hue is one of the most eye-catching in Bourbon. The rich, fruity, sweet-corn aromas are overwhelming in the initial pass; with time in the glass, the bouquet turns less assertive, adding seductive notes of spice, toasty oaky, marzipan and marshmallow; by the final nut-like whiff, I'm a true believer. The plate entry is resiny sweet, concentrated, buttery and fat; the midpalate displays firm, mildly oily and moderately smoked tastes of barrel-char, sweet corn, barley spice and bacon fat. A meal in a glass. Finishes with welcome heat and bite, plus loads of fat and oaky resin." Wine Enthusiast - Best Buy. Classic (96-100)/Highest Recommendation The Spirit Journal - Best Buy. "Every year, Master Distiller Parker Beam pokes around the Kentucky "rick house" where barrels of Evan Williams Bourbon live, inspects the ones put there a decade earlier, then picks a few for bottling. And every year, the whiskey he chooses tastes better than last year's. This year saw the release of the 1992 vintage, a killer. The earthy, sweet smell has a hint of caramel apples, but the flavor recalls a cherry pie straight from the oven. Like an old cabinet, this whiskey has been polished to a warm, gorgeous glow." Pete Wells
Food & Wine

"The nose is very intense…it smells of maple syrup, walnuts and caramel. In the mouth, the maple falls away to somewhat be replaced by honey, licorice, orange peel, hard candy, and, as one taster noted, some hints of coffee. A long elegant finish follows with the slightest bit of mouth tingle. It is excellent."

Jack Bettridge

"The nose is spicy with faint notes of dried fruits (apricots leap to mind); the body is big, and the palate is ultra dry, very spicy, and bears those masculine notes of tobacco and leather, and the finish is very short, and once again, spicy. Rating: 91"

Gary and Mardee Haidin Regan
Ardent Spirits

"It is in the same tradition (as the 1991 vintage), with the signature flavors even more intensified and focused. The difference is subtle but definite."
